We received more good news about the Cars set that is being released at Disney Parks on August 26. The Disney Stores will be releasing this set as well on September 19!

With less than 10 days till the upcoming D23 Expo, we are taking a closer look at the figures being released for the event. We mentioned earlier that Vinylmation, Jr. – Series #4 and The Lion King are being released. But there are other figures such as the logo figure.

The figure will have an edition size of 4,800 and a retail of $13.95. The figure will be presented in an open window box as seen below.

We are also excited to announce that Thomas Scott, one of the lead designers for Vinylmation™, will be attending the D23 Expo. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Thomas and have figures signed.

Thomas will be appearing at the follow times and locations:

In addition to the Vinylmation, Jr. Series making its debut at the Expo, Thomas also created the 3-inch figure featuring Gladstone Gander. This figure has an edition size of 1,200 and a retail of $13.95. It will be presented in a window box with display base.

We asked Thomas why he selected Gladstone Gander for a 3-inch figure. “For the D23 Expo exclusives, the team decided to feature Disney characters you wouldn’t normally see on Disney merchandise and didn’t necessarily have a place in other Vinylmation series,” explained Thomas. “Eric picked Butch, Casey did black and white Davey Crockett and I chose Gladstone Gander. I thought Glandstone would be a fun and lucky addition to your Vinylmation collection. It is a salute the great Carl Barks’ duck comics.”

For those who are wondering about Gladstone Gander, he was a character first created by Carl Barks. He made his debut in Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories No. 88 in January 1948. Gladstone was a cousin of Donald Duck and was extremely lucky.
